The Peel District School Board website remains down after a cyber security incident encrypted a significant amount of school board data last week.

On Tuesday Jan. 26, staff found themselves locked out of PDSB files and systems, affecting access to grades as well as the PDSB website.

“At this stage we can confirm that the incident involved encryption malware, and we continue to make progress in restoring the affected systems,” said PDSB spokesperson Tiffany Gooch.

The board has hired a cyber security firm to investigate what happened but say they don’t believe personal information was compromised.

“Should our forensic investigation determine otherwise, PDSB will notify affected individuals as soon as possible,” Gooch said.
