Investigators from the Major Drugs and Vice Bureau have issued an arrest warrant for a male in relation to a Human Trafficking investigation.

The victim and accused have known each other since March 2015.  During their relationship, the accused became controlling forcing the victim to become involved in the sex trade industry.

In June of 2017 the victim reported to police that she had been assaulted and further investigation revealed the male suspect was actively involved in human trafficking of the female victim.

The accused profited from the victim’s acts as he exercised control over all aspects of her life.

Investigators have issued an arrest warrant for Robert WHEATON, a 45 year-old male of no fixed address, for the following offences:

  • Two counts of Procuring
  • Advertising Sexual Services
  • Trafficking in Persons
  • Receiving Benefits Resulting From Trafficking in Persons
  • Assault
  • Forcible Confinement

Robert WHEATON is described as male white, approximately 6 feet tall, 210 pounds with a medium build, light complexion with brown hair.

Investigators believe that WHEATON is in the Greater Toronto Area and is actively avoiding the police.
