Investigators from the 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have charged three males in relation to an incident stemming from a motorcycle complaint.

On Friday August 25, 2017 at approximately 6:00 p.m. Peel Regional Police received numerous calls for a group of males operating motorcycles at a high rate of speed within a residential area on Mount Ranier Crescent and Mount Fuji Crescent in the City of Brampton.

An officer arrived on scene and investigation revealed one of the motorcycles was stolen. The officer attempted to arrest a male party at which time the officer was assaulted and swarmed by several other males in the area. The officer did not suffer any injuries.

Further investigation led to a search warrant being executed at a residence which resulted in the seizure of an additional stolen motorcycle, a pump action shotgun, a large quantity of ammunition, and a quantity of crack and cocaine.

Peel Regional Police would like to thank members of the public for quickly reporting the swarming of our officer that led to a quick response and arrests.

Kimo CHRISTIE a 21 year-old male from Brampton was arrested and charged with Possession Property Obtained by Crime, Possession of a Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device, Careless Storage of a Firearm, Tampering with a Serial Number of Firearm, and two counts of Possession of a Controlled SubstanceCHRISTIE was held for a bail hearing on Sunday August 27, 2017 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

Linval RITCHIE a 25 year-old male of no fixed address was arrested and charged with Assault a Peace OfficerRITCHIE was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of September 28, 2017 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

A 17 year-old male from Orangeville was arrested and charged with Assault a Peace Officer. He was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of September 26, 2017 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person and, therefore, the identities of the Young Persons charged in this investigation are protected.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses to the incident or who may have video surveillance, dashboard video, or who may have information regarding the incident.
