Mayor Brown took a business trip to Pakistan to attract investors into Brampton. He met former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan and the current administration. On his Twitter account Brown wrote,
“I had a very nice chat with Imran Khan this evening about politics, democracy, the rule of law & of course cricket. He served as the 22nd Prime Minister of Pakistan & based on public opinion would easily win again if elections are permitted. I told him he has a big following in Brampton & Canada. At every Pakistani Canadian event, I hear about how the community is inspired by his resilience and his courage to continue to raise his voice despite assassination attempts.”
